Attorney Robert F. Shea, Jr. brings more than 15 years of government relations experience
to his work, including 10 years at Gaffney, Bennett & Associates as well as time
representing the Insurance Association of Connecticut. As President of Shea Law
Inc., Attorney Shea has effectively leveraged this experience on behalf of many
of the firm's largest and long standing clients by successfully identifying creative
opportunities and solving problems for his clients. His exhaustive work has resulted
in the implementation of numerous legislative initiatives.
Throughout his career, Attorney Shea has worked with and developed relationships
with key decision-makers in the General Assembly. He has represented many different
industries on a broad scope of policy issues related to appropriations, transportation,
alternative-energy, environment and education on matters before the legislative
and executive branches of government. He advises clients on legislative and political
strategy, messaging and grassroots mobilization.
Attorney Shea is an active volunteer for nonprofit organizations that help disabled
children and adults, including Connecticut Families for Effective Autism Treatment
(CTFEAT) and Autism Speaks. He also serves as a volunteer parent liaison on the
Board of Directors of the Connecticut Institute for the Blind/Oak Hill School.
A native of Milton, Massachusetts, Attorney Shea holds a B.A. from the College of
the Holy Cross and a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law. Attorney Shea
is admitted to practice in Connecticut and before the U.S. District Court for Connecticut.
He resides in West Hartford, CT with his wife Rosanne and their two children, Jeremiah
and Fiona.
